The Dark Tower Wiki

Thomas Stearns "T.S." Eliot was a major poet, playwright, and literary critic of the 20th century. He was born in America and emigrated to the United Kingdom in 1914.

He became known for his 1915 poem, The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock. For a poet of his stature, he produced relatively few poems.

Connection to the Dark Tower Series[]

One of Eliot's most well-known works, The Waste Land, was a major influence on The Dark Tower Series. Several quotations were used from Eliot's work, introducing different sections of the books. It also describes a broken and disjointed world, a common theme in the series. The most explicit connection is in King's The Waste Lands. Not only is the title almost identical, the Waste Lands are a dead place that Roland Deschain must cross.
