Sir Kay Deschain was one of Arthur Eld's original Knights. It was through his daughter that the line of Eld continued.
He is known to have died protecting Arthur from the ravenous insect-like creature, the Crimson Queen, when she arrived with Maerlyn for the king's coronation.
