Ralph leads the assault by the Green Folk, which leads to Roland ending up at the Little Sister's Tent.
When the Little Sisters find that they cannot harm Roland or John Norman as long as they are wearing pendants, they go and ask Ralph to do their job. Ralph wants whiskey and tobacco in exchange, and when the Sisters don't promise it to him, he gets enraged. Sister Mary pulls a gun on him. He takes the pendant off John, but rips open his throat, spilling his blood. The Sisters are too distracted, and yearn for the blood, giving Ralph a way to escape and he takes it.
